TrustedForm (ActiveProspect)

Verify consumer consent with TrustedForm by validating every lead against an independent certificate that captures what the user was shown and accepted. Stay compliant with TCPA and CASL while confirming lead contact data matches the consent record.

Source Type:
Consent Verification

Delivery Format:
API

Integration Type:
TCPA Compliance

Overview

The TrustedForm (ActiveProspect) integration for LeadExec provides real-time consent verification and lead authentication. Every lead is validated against its TrustedForm certificate – an independent, third-party record of what the consumer was shown and accepted – helping you stay compliant with TCPA and CASL while protecting your business from regulatory risk.

TrustedForm also helps detect low-quality leads by verifying that the contact information on the lead matches what was recorded during consent, ensuring only trusted leads reach your buyers.

How It Works

  • Certificate Generation. A TrustedForm JavaScript snippet on your landing page or form records a session-level certificate that documents the consumer's experience – page content, disclosures displayed, and consent actions taken.
  • Certificate URL Capture. When a lead is submitted, the certificate URL (e.g., https://cert.trustedform.com/{token}) is passed to LeadExec as a hidden field alongside the lead data.
  • Certificate Claim. LeadExec issues a POST to the TrustedForm API to claim the certificate, binding it to the lead and returning verification metadata.
  • Validation & Insights. The API response includes the overall outcome, lead matching results, and certificate retention details. LeadExec parses these fields and stores them with the lead.
  • Decision Logic. Criteria rules automatically accept, reject, or send leads to quality control based on TrustedForm results.

Benefits

  • Consent Documentation: Every lead carries an independent, third-party certificate proving what the consumer saw and agreed to.
  • TCPA & CASL Compliance: Maintain auditable proof of consent that holds up under regulatory scrutiny.
  • Lead Verification: Confirm that the email and phone on the lead match what was captured on the consent form, filtering out mismatched or recycled leads before they enter your pipeline.
  • Improved Lead Quality: Only verified, human-generated leads with valid consent reach your buyers.

Auth and Settings

Setting Description
API Key Your ActiveProspect API key, used for HTTP Basic authentication with the TrustedForm API
Certificate URL Field The LeadExec field mapped to the TrustedForm certificate URL (typically a hidden form field)

Data Exchange

The integration is configured per lead type and performs three operations against the TrustedForm API. Each can be enabled or disabled independently, except Retain which requires Match Lead to also be enabled.

Action / Endpoint
Action / Endpoint Description
POST https://cert.trustedform.com/{certificate_token} Claims and verifies a TrustedForm certificate. Authentication uses HTTP Basic Auth
Integration Fields (LeadExec → TrustedForm)
Certificate

The Certificate operation submits the TrustedForm certificate URL for claiming and verification.

Integration Field Description Required
Certificate URL The TrustedForm certificate URL captured from the form submission Yes
Match Lead

The Match Lead operation checks whether the email address and/or phone number on the lead matches what is recorded on the certificate.

Integration Field Description Required
Match Lead: Email Lead email to verify against the certificate Optional
Match Lead: Phone Lead phone to verify against the certificate Optional
Retain

The Retain operation stores the TrustedForm certificate in your ActiveProspect account per your account retention setting (defaults to 5 years). This should be performed for all certificates associated with leads you intend to contact so that you have proof of the events that took place.

Integration Field Description Required
Retain: Reference Internal lead identifier for cross-referencing Optional
Retain: Vendor Lead source or publisher identifier Optional

TrustedForm Response Fields (JSON → LeadExec)

Response data from both the Match Lead and Retain operations can be mapped back into lead fields for use in criteria logic.

Match Lead
Key Examples Notes
Match Lead: Success Whether the Match Lead operation completed successfully
Match Lead: Email Match Whether the lead email matched the certificate record
Match Lead: Phone Match Whether the lead phone matched the certificate record
Retain
Key Examples Notes
Retain: Expires At Certificate expiration timestamp
Retain: Masked Certificate Url Masked version of the certificate URL for secure storage
Retain: Previously Retained Whether this certificate was already retained in a prior request

Example Criteria Rules

  • Reject if Match Lead: Success = false – lead is rejected.
  • Quality Control if Match Lead: Email Match = false or Match Lead: Phone Match = false – lead is flagged for manual review and requires approval before distribution.

Important Notes

  • The TrustedForm JavaScript snippet must be installed on every form or landing page that generates leads for this integration to function.
  • Certificates are time-limited; unclaimed certificates expire and cannot be retroactively verified.
  • Each certificate operation counts toward your ActiveProspect billing.
